We have a Java based [intranet] web portal that presents the users with reports that are generated in crystal.....
On the reports are hyperlinks that point to an asp.net [intranet] web app and these hyperlinks include querystring data that the asp.net web app needs.
The problem is that when a user clicks on the hyperlink, the result is not as required.
With Internet Explorer, the asp.net page does load, but the URL of the browser is still the Java portal URL andnot the URL of the asp.net page.
Whilst the page does display correctly, subsequent hyperlinks [on the asp.net page] do not seem to work.
With Chrome, the asp.net page does not load. The Java portal URL remains and the browser displays nothing (the Java portal page disappears).
What I would like to do is have the hyperlink in the crystal report open in a new window (IE) or new tab (Chrome), pretty much like in HTML terms you would use TARGET="_BLANK".
Someone in our org mantioned that they have unsuccessfully tried this in the past.
Can anyone comment on the above?
I'm not sure where the problem lies - is it related to the fact that we are trying hyperlink from a Java portal to asp.netor maybe it is related to the crystal reports
